In many national and natural parks dogs must be on a lead or are not allowed in. Here is what the official source for each area says, with a link, plus walks where you can take your dog. Checked in November 2026.
Assistance dogs have their own rules. This page is for information: the rule in force is the one each area publishes.
Landing domestic animals on the islands is prohibited, except guide dogs.

Walks with your dogThe current rule could not be read. The 2004 PRUG (Decree 48/2004) considered bringing in animals «de compañía o mascotas» (translation: companion animals or pets) incompatible, but REDIAM considers it repealed; the current PRUG (Decree 142/2016, Annex VI, 53 MB PDF) could not be downloaded. MITECO's visitor rules do not mention dogs.

It is replaced by the PRUG of Decree 79/2025 (DOE 21/07/2025); in the readable part (up to art. 28) only the removal of unsupervised domestic animals appears (art. 25.7). The rest could not be read.
