Natural areas: rules for dogs

Always on a lead

Parque Nacional de la Sierra de las Nieves

Málaga · National park

The official park map includes 'Perros sueltos' (translation: Dogs off the lead) in the list of what is not allowed; it does not prohibit entry with a dog on a lead.

«Además, sepa que no está permitido: [...] Perros sueltos»

Allowed

Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema

Cádiz, Málaga · Natural park

DEDUCED: the PRUG (Decree 90/2006) contains no rule on dogs, nor do the trail information sheets consulted. The general rule applies (Law 7/2023, art. 25.d): do not let them off the lead. The 2025 Public Use Programme (BOJA 137/2025) has not been read. Some trails (e.g. El Pinsapar) require authorisation.

«Dejar animales sueltos o en condiciones de causar daños en lugares públicos [...] especialmente en los parques nacionales [...] u otros espacios naturales protegidos»
